What size are the waste collection boxes?

Boxes are approximately 3 cubic feet and can hold a maximum of 42 pounds, per OSHA regulations. Medical waste includes:

Animal waste
Bulk human blood and blood products
Microbiological waste
Pathological waste

How quickly can you pick up an On-Call box?

Most of the time, an on-call box can be picked up within one week. There are rare occasions when it may take up to 10 business days. If you are in a bind, we’ll do our best to meet your needs.

How long is your contract?

Smart Waste does not require long-term contracts. Our customers stay with us because of the friendly, detail-oriented service they receive. Our agreements are simple and outline the waste acceptance policy – what we are legally allowed to transport as bio-hazard waste – and your pricing. If you are unsatisfied with our service, simply give us 60 days’ notice that you are terminating your agreement.

Where does the waste go after your driver picks it up?

Smart Waste utilizes licensed treatment facilities in Texas.

Can I trust a small company to handle our regulated waste?

Absolutely! Biohazard waste transportation is regulated by state agencies. In Texas, we are regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). All companies must follow the same regulatory requirements and carry the same level of insurance. Additionally, Smart Waste is led by a licensed Environmental Engineer who ensures all regulations are met or exceeded.

Do you offer training services?

Smart Waste offers both training and resources. We recognize that a lot of small quantity generators do not need expensive and highly specialized training packages. We are happy to direct you to one of the many free options available on the internet or provide resources to train your own staff.

Do you accept credit cards?

Of course! Smart Waste accepts all major credit cards. Auto-pay is also available.
